PCF - Philippine Christian Foundation

Angus Supports this great charity based in The Philippines

Hundreds of poor children in The philippines live in shacks with no electricity and no running water. Every day children as young as 4 spend 10 hours on a rubbish tip trying to find scraps that they can sell so they can buy food for their family to live. They actually live on or beside the rubbish tip and they don't go to school because they have to earn money.

They live in shacks They spend the day looking through rubbish

It's very sad and it's very hard for us to understand. We have nice houses and comfy beds, sky movies and video games and dolls, and we have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Close your eyes and imagine if you lived on a rubbish tip and didn't have the nice things we have now.

Well, PCF is a charity which does a lot to help these kids and their families. They help to make their houses better, they train their parents and give them skills so they can find better work.

Teaching the parents

They have a school where they teach the kids and give them a good education. They also feed and clothe the kids and give them vitamins so that they will grow up healthy and be able to help to change The Philippines to be a better place. How cool is that?

We are in a position to help out, and Mrs B has already sent them £100 from Angus' badge money. You can read about the great work they do at the PCF web site and I think we will learn more about them over the coming months. We might have to send our intrepid explorer, Angus, out to the Philippines to get more info and to find out what we can do.
